I’ll play IPL until my mobility is compromised: Glenn Maxwell praises the Indian T20 League and says he loves it

After a breakthrough season in the Indian Premier League (IPL) in 2014, Glenn Maxwell became a household name in India. In one particular tournament, players from other countries took full advantage of the opportunity to compete for financial gain, recognition for their home countries, or any other reason. Players such as Chris Gayle, Lasith Malinga, Sunil Narine, David Warner, AB de Villiers, and Kieron Pollard had just as many supporters as the Indian team.

That is the IPL’s mania; it has lowered barriers and made cricket a worldwide sport that millions of people watch, where there is an unfathomable sense of togetherness and international rivals who have become friends.

Maxwell, who spent his time playing for the Mumbai Indians, Punjab, Delhi, and finally Punjab, has finally settled down with Royal Challengers Bangalore. He will play for the team for a fourth season in 2024 and isn’t afraid to say that the IPL may be his final competition and that he won’t be leaving anytime soon.

Maxwell said, “The IPL will probably be the last tournament I ever play, as I will play the IPL until I can’t walk anymore,” to reporters on Wednesday, December 6, as he got ready for the Big Bash League 2023–2024.

Maxwell went on to clarify his remarks, stating that he wanted more young Australian players to come play in the IPL and get experience from it. He also mentioned how the IPL has been amazing for him in terms of the players he has met and the coaches he has worked with.

“I was discussing how helpful the Indian Premier League (IPL) has been to me throughout the course of my career, including the individuals I’ve met, the coaches I’ve worked under, and the foreign players I get to interact with.

In cricket, what is blocking the field? Why was Mushfiqur Rahim distributed in a peculiar manner?

“For two months, you’re hanging out with Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers, chatting with them while watching other games. It’s just the best educational opportunity for any athlete.

“Hopefully a lot of our Australian players can get over to the IPL and get to work in slightly similar conditions to the West Indies, where it is a little bit drier, it will spin,” he said.

After making over 1200 runs for RCB over the previous three years, Maxwell felt comfortable, got reliable, and established himself as a force to be reckoned with in the IPL. For the time being, he is probably going to remain there the longest
